Shipping Policy
Almost every piece in our collection is one of a kind. Our shipping reflects that,
handled with the same care we've brought to this work for 36 years.
How It Works
Because our inventory ranges from delicate decorative smalls to substantial antique furniture and fine art, each piece has its own packaging, carrier, and insurance considerations. We handle shipping in multiple ways, depending on the piece.
Items Marked “Free Shipping”
Some pieces in our collection ship free. These are clearly labeled with a Free Shipping badge. For these items, your card is charged at checkout for the item price, and we'll pack and send your order right away — no quote, no extra steps.
Everything Else — Quoted Shipping
For the rest of the collection, shipping is quoted individually based on the item's size, fragility, destination, and any special handling needs. Here's how that works:
- Place Your Order Complete checkout and enter your payment details. Your card is not charged at this stage — checkout simply reserves the piece for you and sends us your order details.
- We Prepare Your Quote Within 24–48 hours, we'll email you a shipping quote tailored to your item, destination, and any special handling. The email includes an invoice link to pay for shipping.
- Questions About the Quote? If something doesn't work for you — a different carrier, local pickup, splitting the shipment, or anything else — please contact us before paying the invoice and we'll try to arrange something that works.
- Pay the Invoice to Approve Paying the shipping invoice confirms the quote. Your card is charged at that point for both the piece and the shipping, and we'll begin packing.
- We Ship Your piece is carefully packed and sent. We will provide a tracking number if available.
Carriers & Methods
We try to select the carrier best suited to each piece. Smaller parcels might ship via USPS Ground Advantage, UPS, or FedEx Ground. Large furniture, fine art, and high-value or fragile pieces are usually handled by specialized fine art shippers and white-glove delivery services.
Free local delivery in the Asheville area is available on select items. Contact us to discuss.
Insurance
All shipments include carrier insurance. Items valued above $500 are shipped with third-party fine art insurance at actual cost, included in your shipping quote.
Fine art, paintings, and high-value decorative objects are quoted individually and may require white-glove handling. These items will not be shipped without appropriate coverage.
All Sales Final
All antique and vintage sales are final. Items are sold as described, with condition noted to the best of our ability. We are happy to provide additional photographs or condition details before purchase, please ask.
In the event an item arrives materially different from its description, contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
Local Pickup
You're always welcome to collect your purchase in person at our Asheville showroom on Biltmore Avenue. Select Local Pickup at checkout, or contact us to arrange a time that works for you.
